Terms of Service

By entering into a customer contract with Pajama Cat Studio, you agree to these terms of service.

Age

All clients must be 18 years of age or older in order to enter into a contract with Pajama Cat Studio. By entering into a customer contract, you agree that you are over the age of 18.

Clients may be asked to confirm their age with a photo ID. This is for confirmation purposes only and the client's legal name, photo, and age will not be shared outside of this transaction.

Pajama Cat Studio is willing to work with adult parents or guardians on the behalf of minors over the age of 15. In this event, the parent or guardian is the legal client and must handle all payments, contracts, and correspondence.

Quotes

A quote is meant only to serve as a price estimate based on character design and scale of the project. Requesting a quote does not bind you to any project agreement, nor does it confirm your spot on the Pajama Cat project queue.

A quote is considered valid through the next commission opening. Prices are subject to change between commission openings and so a project must be re-submitted for a new quote each time the client wishes to apply for a commission opening.

Pajama Cat Studio can work with a variety of types of character references, but note that the more clearly depicted your reference sheet is, the more accurately your character can be portrayed. For this reason, clear and detailed reference sheets are more likely to be selected for the Pajama Cat project queue. Factors that improve a reference sheet's usability include 2 or more full-body illustrations from different angles, as well as close-up illustrations of important markings or accessories and clearly portrayed, discrete colors.

The character design MUST be the intellectual property of the client. Pajama Cat Studio refuses to work with designs that belong to people who did not approve the client's use of the design.

Payment

Upon accepting your commission application, your payment is required up front in full. Payments will be made via Square invoicing.

30% of this payment is NON-REFUNDABLE in order to cover material cost, communication, and the client's spot in the project queue.

Your spot in the Pajama Cat commission queue is confirmed once your payment is made, and the order of project completion is determined by the order in which clients make their payments.

Pajama Cat Studio does NOT offer payment plans in an attempt to keep the project queue short. Clients who wish to make payments over time are encouraged to look into options such as Square Credit, credit cards, or small loans. If these are not possible, clients are encouraged to apply once they have enough money saved up.

Deadlines

Pajama Cat Studio does NOT accept project deadlines.

While an estimated completion time will be given, Pajama Cat Studio cannot make hard promises as to when a project will be done in order to ensure that the client will receive a project that is up to the Pajama Cat standard of quality.

Clients can follow their place in the queue and the progress on their project via Trello, in addition to receiving email updates.

Warranty, Repairs, and Refurbishments

Any immediate faults in material or construction are valid for free repairs by Pajama Cat Studio up to 60 days after the client receives the costume, though the client must cover all shipping costs.

Damage caused by wear & tear or other sources not resulting from faulty construction are not covered by any kind of warranty. Pajama Cat Studio may accept repair jobs with a fee on a case-by-case basis, though for most repairs it is advised that the client finds a local crafts-person who is willing to make the necessary repairs.

Pajama Cat Studio is willing to guide a client through any repairs they may wish to do themselves for free.

Pajama Cat Studio may occasionally accept refurbishment projects for older Pajama Cat suits, though it is generally preferred to simply apply for a brand-new suit as refurbished costumes often require a lot of work and money and do not accurately represent the current quality of Pajama Cat costumes.

Cancellations & Refunds

Should the client choose to cancel their commission at any point, they will receive a refund excluding the 30% non-refundable portion of the cost of their project.

Pajama Cat Studio reserves the right to continue work on any cancelled projects that have already been started. Changes to character design will be made based on the extent of work that has already been done, and the costume will be sold via auction.

Should Pajama Cat Studio need to initiate a project cancellation for any reason, the client will be issued a full refund, including the typically non-refundable 30% portion of the cost of your project.
